Tracy Strother has fallen off her porch and thinks she has fractured her pelvis. She is in room 545 at St. Thomas and after further tests she will see her doctor to confirm this diagnosis. Her doctor thought she would not be able to return this year. Please remember her.

With greatest apologies I must report an "Oops". When the winner of the Rally was announced, Kim Watkins was the winner with low net score of 71. She notified us that she had neglected to sign up for the tournament therefore she was ineligible to win. We appreciate her calling this to our attention. Mary Jane Baldinger and Carol Glasgow tied with net scores of 73. According to our yearbook-page 23- ties woiuld be broken by matching scorecards. MJ had the low score on the back nine and is the winner. Apologies to Kim and Congratulations to MJ.

FINALLY we we able to complete the Rally for the Cure. The winner is Kim Watkins. Congratulations! Kudos to Therese for being the super organizer of this event. She hung in there through all the bad weather and still kept smiling. Thanks to all who helped make this a success with their contribution to the cause. You are all winners!!

Member/Guest update: Once again the weather was the winner. After most players had played only four holes the siren was sounded and we were called off the course. A heavy thunderstorm came through and after an hour delay and the promise of more rain to come, a decision was made to reschedule the event. We will now try again on August 6th.
Fay put out the hamburgers and we enjoyed a delicious lunch with side dishes of baked beans, pasta salad, chips and brownies provided by HHLGA members.
Many thanks to Rita and Lilli for a job well done!!

The Match Play tournament is nearing the completion of the first round. Only one match ramains to be played--because of weather and tournament schedule they will have an additional week to complete their round. The results so far have been interesting. Next year we will add a Consolation round. The Second round will have until the end of June to complete play.
Check out the results on this web site.
Member/Guest is to be played on June 11. Entry fee is $30 which includes lunch, mulligans and prize money. Round up your buddy and sign up. Send you check to Tonie Osborne.

Rita Stinson and I took the equipment you donated to the 1st Tee on Friday.
A picture will soon be up.We did not count individual items, but the response
was overwhelming. We had 4 empty cart bags, 5 bags with clubs, 11 sets of clubs (including irons, woods and putters), a box of clothing, 1 pair shoes, 2 umbrellas, 3 large containers of balls and some head covers. Thanks to everyone and if you still have some items, you can bring them to the club house and they will be put into a locker until we have the opportunity to take to the 1st Tee.
Thanks again-and have a good week.

Thanks to everyone who attended the spring luncheon. The equipment donated to go to 1st Tee was overwhelming. A photo is posted of some of the equipment.
Tee time will be at 8--so be there by 7:30 on April 2nd. Some wanted my Copper Penny recipe: 2 lbs carrots, sliced, cooked and drained; l large onion chopped; 1 large green pepper chopped (optional); 2 stalks celery, chopped---Marinade:
1 can condensed tomato soup; 1 cup sugar; 1/2-1 teaspoon dry mustard; 2 tablespoons Worcestershire; 1/2 cup oil; 3/4 cup white vinegar; 2 teaspoons salt--
Cook sliced carrots about 18-20 minutes and drain.Add other vegetables. Mix marinade and pour over vegetables. Keeps well in refrigerator. Serves 16. Enjoy and look forward to seeing everyone in April.
